Kisuma (over 110 employees) is the leading global supplier of synthetic layered double hydroxides (commonly referred to as "hydrotalcites") for plastics. That sounds very technical, but everyone knows products in which our product is used. This includes PVC, plastic frames and products in the automotive industry.

The Department

The Technology department recently completed a new high-tech lab. Through specific customer questions, close contact with institutes/other producers and subsidized projects from the EU, Kisuma Chemicals sees opportunities in the market by conducting research into new products. To facilitate the R&D team in Veendam as best as possible, a new high-tech laboratory has been built and a lot is being invested in product development. A pilot plant is under construction. The Technology department consists of the QC team and the R&D team (approximately 20 FTE).

The function

As a Regulatory Affairs Officer within the Technology department, you are responsible for ensuring the registrations of new products and maintaining existing product registrations.

You will be responsible for the regulatory compliance of the products in Europe and outside Europe. You work together with colleagues on location in the Netherlands and with international colleagues remotely.

Tasks

• Ensure product compliance in Europe and outside Europe.

• Following up on various regulations and translating them into our products.

• Support the Technical service representative in answering questions that customers have regarding Regulatory Affairs related topics such as REACH and Food Contact Approvals.

• Act as a representative in the field of EU legislation and beyond.

• Advising the manager on the quality and safety of the products and developments in the field of legal regulations.

Profile

• Completed Bachelor or Master education in Life Science such as Chemistry;

• Ideally, 2 years of experience in regulatory affairs with GHS/CLP and REACH legislation and Food Contact Approvals (this may also be combined work experience from an internship during the study).

• The ability to read and interpret technical and regulatory documents.

• Good data management skills and detail-oriented attitude.

• Fluent command of the Dutch and English language.

• Good communication skills, both face to face and via virtual communication. This is important because you work with colleagues abroad (including Japan).

• Strong persuasiveness, you are able to encourage others to get things done.

• A motivated institutions the will to learn.

• Good project management skills and a structured working method.
